Chapter 6 - THE BLOOD CONTRACTThe next morning, Antonio called me into the courtyard. His wound was bandaged beneath a crisp charcoal suit, but his face was grim.

"Dante’s capos are demanding an emergency meeting of the Five Families," Antonio informed me, pacing the cobblestones. "Rumors are spreading that Vito had a secret heir. If Dante proves you exist without our protection, the council will force a vote to strip the Russo family of our territory."

"Then let them have it!" I cried out. "I don't want crime money! I just want to finish my nursing degree and live a normal life!"
