Chapter 8 - The Morning HeadlinesThe sun rose over Las Lomas de Chapultepec on Friday morning, bringing with it a media firestorm that had been brewing since the moment Paulina Robles stormed out of the Villaseñor mansion.

By 7:00 AM, a dozen news vans, paparazzi motorcycles, and satellite trucks had choked the private winding roadway leading up to the estate’s security gates. Flashing camera lights painted frantic patterns across the second-floor windows.

Inside the mansion, the atmosphere was strangely serene.

Marisol sat at the breakfast table in the master suite, feeding Valentina small pieces of sliced banana, while a private stylist hired by Diego at 5:00 AM hovered nearby with a rack of simple, elegant designer clothes.

“You don't have to do this, Diego,” Marisol sighed, looking across the table at the billionaire, who was calmly sipping his espresso while reviewing a digital press release on his tablet. “I can wear my uniform. It’s what I know.”

“Your uniform is currently sitting in the laundry service bin where it belongs,” Diego replied without looking up, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Today, you are attending a private legal conference in my office, followed by a formal press briefing in the grand foyer. You are going to dress like the woman who owns half of Santa Fe.”

Before Marisol could argue, the intercom buzzed on the mahogany desk.

Diego pressed the speaker button.

“Sir,” the head of security’s voice crackled through the intercom, tense and urgent. “The gates have been breached by a coalition of reporters, and Madam Elena has just arrived at the front steps accompanied by two federal magistrates and a family court injunction.”

Diego did not blink. He set his coffee cup down with absolute, deliberate calmness.

“Let them in,” Diego instructed smoothly. “Open the front doors wide. Tell the press corps inside the gates that the Villaseñor family is ready to make an announcement.”
