Chapter 18 - The Unbroken CircleTwo months later, the spring sun over Mexico City felt different. Brighter. Kinder.

The sprawling gardens of the Villaseñor estate were alive with blooming bougainvillea and the sound of children’s laughter. The media storm had long since faded, replaced by official business profiles praising Diego Villaseñor’s restructuring of the corporate board and his philanthropic investments in urban child welfare.

Inside the grand conservatory, a small, private gathering was taking place.

There were no high-society socialites, no manipulative board members, and no bitter relatives. Just a few trusted estate staff who had cared for Marisol during her hardest days, and Dante—who had flown in from the firm’s international division with a broad grin and a gift box wrapped in silver ribbon.

Marisol stood before the floor-to-ceiling mirror in the master suite, adjusting the neckline of a simple, elegant ivory silk dress.

The door opened softly, and Diego stepped inside. He wore a tailored black tuxedo, looking every bit the ruthless billionaire, but when his eyes met hers in the mirror, all the armor melted away.

He walked up behind her, placing his hands gently on her shoulders, his gaze meeting hers in the glass.

“You take my breath away, Marisol,” Diego whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

Marisol turned around, resting her hands against the lapels of his jacket. “I keep waiting for someone to pinch me. Four years ago, I was scrubbing these marble floors with my hands trembling, terrified of being thrown out into the street.”

Diego cupped her cheek, his thumb tracing her cheekbone. “Four years ago, I was a blind man building an empire in the dark, not knowing what I was missing. You didn't just walk into my house, Marisol. You brought the soul back into it.”

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box, opening it to reveal a ring set with a brilliant, flawless diamond flanked by two small, intricate golden buttons crafted in platinum.

“Marisol Fuentes,” Diego said softly, his grey eyes burning with an intense, eternal devotion. “Will you stay in this house—not as a guest, not as a manager, but as my wife, and the true heart of the Villaseñor family?”

Tears spilled over Marisol’s lashes, but she was smiling.

“Yes, Diego,” she whispered. “A thousand times, yes.”
