Chapter 10 - The New Foundation

Sunday morning dawned crisp, clear, and utterly peaceful.

I woke up early, brewed a fresh cup of coffee, and stepped out onto the front porch with Emma resting comfortably in a soft wrap against my chest.

Across the street, our neighbors were tending to their flowerbeds, waving warmly as they caught my eye. The air smelled of damp earth, falling leaves, and absolute freedom.

Ten days ago, I had sat in this very house bleeding, broken, and shivering under a cruel torrent of cold water, wondering how I was going to survive.

Now, looking out over the manicured lawn of the home I solely owned, holding my daughter in my arms, I knew the answer.

I hadn't just survived.

I had audited my entire life, thrown out the liabilities, and built a brand-new foundation that nothing and no one could ever wash away.

I took a slow sip of my coffee, looked down at my sleeping baby girl, and whispered into the quiet morning air, “We’re home, sweetie. And we’re never looking back.”
