Chapter 15 - The Final Blueprint

On New Year’s Eve, the estate was filled with life, warmth, and genuine laughter.

The great hall echoed with the chatter of veterans, local community leaders, staff members, and close friends who had stood by me through every trial. There were no fake smiles, no backhanded compliments, and no hidden knives waiting behind expensive silverware.

Around ten o'clock, I stepped outside onto the expansive rear balcony, wrapped in a heavy wool coat, watching the stars glitter across the cold winter sky above the frozen lake.

The chill in the air didn't bother me. The old shrapnel ache in my shoulder was barely a whisper tonight.

I pulled a small, blank Moleskine notebook from my coat pocket and clicked my silver pen.

Opening to the very first page, I looked down at the empty white paper. The past was fully resolved—accounted for, judged, and put to rest. The present was a thriving, breathing reality built with truth, discipline, and uncompromising strength.

I lowered the pen to the paper.

With a steady, unhesitating hand, I wrote the title for the next chapter of my life across the top of the page:

The Unbroken Line.

And as the distant sound of fireworks began to bloom across the midnight horizon, I knew that whatever came next, our foundation was absolute, unbreakable, and entirely our own.
