Chapter 11 - The Confession in the Vault

The underground vault smelled of damp concrete, old iron, and absolute despair.
Viktor Sterling, the once-feared syndicate boss who had dreamed of overthrowing the Moretti empire, was now chained to the same steel pillar where Ramos had sat weeks before. His expensive suit was ruined, covered in grime and dried sweat, his arrogant face bruised and swollen from the swift, merciless efficiency of Alejandro’s enforcers.
The heavy iron door creaked open, breaking the tomb-like silence.
Alejandro Moretti stepped into the vault. He wore a crisp charcoal suit, his posture completely relaxed, his hands buried deep in his pockets. He didn't look like a man who had just survived an all-out war; he looked like a CEO inspecting a minor logistics delay.
Sterling raised his head, his eyes burning with a mixture of terror and bitter defiance. “You can’t keep me here forever, Alejandro. People know I came to this estate. My associates will tear this city apart looking for me.”
“Let them look,” Alejandro replied smoothly, stopping a few feet away from the pillar. His voice was quiet, carrying a terrifying, dead calm. “By tomorrow morning, official shipping records will show that Viktor Sterling boarded a cargo freighter bound for South America under a false passport. You don't exist anymore, Viktor.”
Sterling flinched, the color draining entirely from his face. “What do you want?”
“I want a confession,” Alejandro said, stepping closer. “I want every name, every shell corporation, and every corrupt official in the city police department who helped you smuggle that poison onto my property.”
“And if I refuse?” Sterling snarled, though his voice shook.
May you like
Alejandro smiled—a cold, humorless expression that didn't reach his eyes. “Then you will spend the rest of your natural life down here listening to the water drip, wondering whether your remaining assets are being burned to ash or handed over to charity.”
Sterling stared into Alejandro’s abyssal eyes for three agonizing seconds. Then, his shoulders slumped in utter defeat. He began to talk.
