Chapter 11 - The Echoes of Autumn

The crisp November air continued to settle over Willowbrook, bringing with it a profound sense of quiet productivity. With the legal storm behind us, the farm finally felt entirely our own—every acre of rich soil, every weathered fence post, and every creak of the old wooden floorboards carried a renewed sense of purpose.
Emma’s online organic produce store had officially launched under the name Willowbrook Harvest. Within just two weeks, the website caught the attention of local farmers' markets and boutique restaurants in Providence looking for genuinely fresh, pesticide-free vegetables and heritage apples. Orders began flooding in faster than we could box them up.
"Look at this," Emma said one afternoon, spinning her laptop around to show me a notification screen. "We’ve just received a bulk supply contract from The Hearth, that high-end farm-to-table restaurant downtown. They want our heirloom tomatoes and honey weekly!"
I smiled, wiping the sawdust from my hands onto my jeans. "That’s amazing, Emma. Your design background and knack for marketing have completely turned things around for us."
"It's a team effort," she replied, her eyes bright with a quiet confidence that suited her far better than the guarded expression she used to wear back in the city. "Besides, I actually feel like I'm building something real here, not just existing to fill a quota."

Mom walked in from the kitchen carrying a tray of freshly baked cinnamon rolls, her steps steady and light. She set the tray down on the old oak table, looking at both of us with a warmth that warmed the entire room.
"You two have brought life back to this place," Mom said softly. "Not just to the land, but to my heart."
