Chapter 11 - The Quiet Aftermath

With the dust of the family confrontation fully settled, the silence that followed felt less like emptiness and more like a hard-earned sanctuary.

In the corporate world, news of a high-profile fallout travels through elite networks like wildfire. By the following week, the whispers about Vanessa’s professional humiliation at Vance & Sterling had reached the upper echelons of San Francisco real estate. While no formal disciplinary action was leaked to the public, Vanessa found herself quietly sidelined from prime commercial listings. The multi-million-dollar accounts she once bragged about managing were reassigned to senior partners who didn't carry the risk of corporate blowback from Azure Hospitality.

I looked up from my tablet, running my fingers over the edge of the polished mahogany desk. “And how is our domestic logistics holding up?”

“Operating at peak efficiency,” Marcus replied with a subtle smile. “Tom Vance reported a record-breaking turnaround time at the Reno distribution center. Furthermore, the custom safety vests bearing your unofficial company slogan have become quite popular among the warehouse staff.”

I couldn't help but laugh softly. “Tell Tom that if morale is that high, I’ll personally authorize a company-wide bonus for the quarter.”
