Chapter 15 - The Sunday Morning Reflection

Sunday morning greeted the city of Boston with a gentle, golden sunrise.

I woke up early, brewed a fresh pot of coffee, and stepped out onto my small front porch. The air was crisp and smelled of autumn leaves and damp earth.

Across the street, a neighbor was walking a golden retriever, while children laughed in the distance as they rode their bicycles down the quiet residential lane.

I took a slow sip of my coffee, letting the warmth spread through my chest.

A few months ago, sitting at that Easter brunch table while Vanessa and my parents mocked my retail career, I had felt like an outsider in my own family. They had weaponized their wealth and their corporate titles to keep me small, assuming I didn't have the instincts to survive in their world.

They had been right about one thing: I didn't play their game. I changed the rules entirely.

I looked down at my hands—hands that had worked the floor at Bell & Rowe, audited fraudulent ledgers late into the night, and ultimately secured the future of an entire corporate empire through patience, integrity, and absolute precision.

My phone buzzed quietly on the porch railing.

I picked it up. It was a simple, short text from my mother:

> Church bells are ringing. Thinking of you, darling. Have a wonderful Sunday.

May you like

I smiled, locked the screen, and set it down.

The audit of my past was closed. The ledgers were clean, the foundation was unbreakable, and the future was entirely my own.
