Chapter 8 - THE VOICE THAT CAME BACKPolice sirens surrounded the mansion.

Bellamy tried to run.

He didn't get far.

Vincent's father was arrested.

The offshore accounts were exposed.

The Moretti empire began collapsing under investigation.

Dominic surrendered.

Isabella testified.

Grace finally told the truth.

And Sofia returned home.

But Vincent still had one question.

“Why did you wait three years?”

Sofia sat beside him in the quiet kitchen.

“Because I wasn't alone.”

Vincent looked at her.

She placed a small photograph on the table.

A baby.

Then another photograph.

A young woman holding that baby.

Vincent stared.

“Who's she?”

Sofia hesitated.

“My sister.”

Vincent frowned.

“I thought you were an only child.”

“So did everyone.”

Sofia looked toward the window.

“Because Bellamy made sure nobody knew she existed.”

Vincent slowly realized what that meant.

The conspiracy wasn't finished.

Sofia continued:

“My sister was the one who helped me escape.”

“Where is she?”

Sofia didn't answer.

Instead, she turned the photograph over.

There was a handwritten message.

You found Vincent. Now find me.

Vincent stared at Sofia.

“You knew she was alive?”

Sofia nodded.

“She sent me the phone.”

Vincent's eyes widened.

“The phone?”

Sofia nodded.

“But the voicemail…”

She looked at him.

“I never recorded that message.”

Vincent went completely still.

“What?”

Sofia shook her head.

“I never said, ‘If Bellamy is in the room, don't say another word.’”

Nobody spoke.

Emily slowly picked up the cracked phone.

The screen turned on by itself.

One new voicemail appeared.

No caller ID.

No number.

Only one name:

Sofia Moretti.

Emily pressed play.

A woman's voice whispered:

“Vince…”

A pause.

Then:

“You still haven't figured out who really killed Anthony.”

Vincent looked at Sofia.

Sofia's face turned white.

Because Anthony Moretti wasn't the only person everyone believed was dead.

And somewhere outside the mansion…

A black car waited beneath the trees.

Inside it sat a woman wearing two silver leaves around her neck.

She smiled.

And whispered:

May you like

“Now we begin.”

END OF SEASON ONE.
