Chapter 7 - THE CHILD IN THE PHOTOGRAPHEmily wasn't Sofia's daughter.

That was the next revelation.
She was Bellamy's daughter.
Grace had adopted her after Bellamy abandoned her mother.
But Sofia had discovered something extraordinary.
Emily had unknowingly been carrying evidence.
The cracked phone wasn't originally Sofia's.
It belonged to Bellamy.
He had used it to record conversations about the Moretti family's illegal operations.
Sofia stole it before disappearing.
She hid it inside Grace's sewing box because she knew Bellamy would never search a servant's belongings.
Emily had accidentally activated the final recording.
The recording revealed everything.
Bellamy.
Vincent's father.
Dominic.
The offshore accounts.
The fake death.
The staged disappearance.
But one voice was missing.
Vincent's.
Bellamy had planned to force Vincent into signing the succession papers.
Then kill him.
And make it appear that Vincent had disappeared after voluntarily transferring his fortune.
Isabella looked at Vincent.
“They were never trying to make you marry me.”
“They were trying to make you sign.”
Vincent looked at the papers.
Then he smiled.
For the first time that night.
“Then let them think I will.”
He signed.
Everyone stared.
Isabella whispered:
“What are you doing?”
Vincent looked up.
“I just gave Bellamy exactly what he wanted.”
But there was one thing Bellamy didn't know.
The pen wasn't connected to the original contract.
Vincent had secretly switched the pages.
He had signed a decoy.
The real document was already in the hands of federal investigators.
Bellamy walked into the ballroom.
Smiling.
“Excellent choice, Vincent.”
Vincent looked at him.
“Actually…”
He stood.
“…I think you should read the last page.”
Bellamy's smile disappeared.

The final page contained a confession.
In Bellamy's own handwriting.
