Dominic's voice came through.
“You should have listened to me.”
Vincent demanded:
“Where are you?”
“With the only person who can prove Sofia is telling the truth.”
A camera turned on.
Dominic was standing in an underground parking garage.
Beside him was an elderly man.
Vincent recognized him.
His father.
The man Vincent had believed was dead for six years.
Vincent couldn't speak.
His father smiled.
“Hello, son.”
Everything Vincent believed about his family collapsed.
His father had never died.
He had been hiding.
And he had been controlling the Moretti empire from the shadows.
He revealed the truth.
Sofia had discovered that Vincent's father planned to transfer the entire Moretti fortune into an offshore trust.
The engagement contract wasn't an engagement contract.
It was a succession document.
If Vincent signed it, he would legally surrender control of the family empire.
To whom?
His father.
Bellamy had prepared the documents.
Isabella had been sent to distract Vincent.
Dominic had been ordered to monitor him.
And Grace had been threatened into silence.
But Sofia had escaped.
She had spent three years collecting evidence.
Vincent looked at the screen.
“Why didn't you come back?”
Sofia's voice broke.
“Because they had your daughter.”
Vincent froze.
“My daughter?”
Sofia nodded.
“She was taken from me the night I escaped.”
“Who took her?”
Sofia looked toward the camera.
Then whispered:
“Bellamy.”
Vincent turned pale.
