Chapter 8 - Enter the Federal MarshalBefore Grant could launch into another frantic denial, the heavy front doors swung open once more.

Two tall men in sharp charcoal suits stepped into the foyer. In the lead was Marcus Vance, senior partner at Vance & Sterling Law, holding a thick manila folder bearing the embossed seal of the U.S. District Court. Flanking him was a towering federal marshal whose badge gleamed under the entryway lights.
A collective gasp swept through the room. Several high-society matrons instinctively stepped backward, clutching their pearls as if a bomb had just been dropped into the living room.
“Grant Miller?” Marcus called out, his voice ringing with absolute, unyielding authority.
Grant spun around, trembling like a leaf in a windstorm. “I—I am Grant Miller. Who are you? This is a private event—you have no right—”
Marcus didn't blink. He opened the folder, pulling out a sheaf of federal warrants and criminal indictments.
“By order of the United States District Court and the Department of Justice Cybercrime Division, you, along with Vivian Miller and Caleb Miller, are hereby served with federal arrest warrants for interstate wire fraud, conspiracy, corporate identity theft, and the fraudulent conveyance of protected estate assets.”
The room erupted into absolute bedlam.
Caleb dropped his wine glass, shattering it against the floor, and bolted toward the back French doors leading to the garden. Two steps in, the federal marshal intercepted him with a swift, immovable maneuver, pressing Caleb face-first against the glass pane and snapping heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists with a sharp, metallic click.
“Let me go! You can't do this! We’re respectable people!” Vivian shrieked, clutching her chest as she collapsed dramatically onto an antique sofa, sobbing hysterically into her designer handkerchief.

Marcus stepped past the chaos, walked straight up to me, and handed me the folder with a respectful nod.
“Everything is secured, Ava,” Marcus said clearly. “Nolan Voss’s offshore proxy in the Caymans was raided by federal agents forty-five minutes ago. He’s back in custody, and your husband’s digital footprint has been fully authenticated on every single fraudulent document.”
